New Tax Credit for Biomass Stoves

We have some good news: this week, members of the U.S. House of Representatives introduced a new tax policy bill that includes a very generous incentive for purchasing a new biomass heater such as a woodstove!

What is it? The new investment tax credit would cover up to 30 percent of the purchase and installation costs of a biomass heater that is at least 75 percent efficient per the higher heating value (HHV) of the fuel. That’s a lot more money than the now-expired stove tax credit, and this credit would cover any qualifying biomass heater (stove, insert, furnace, hydronic heater).

Now, the challenge: Congress has to pass this bill into law! Please take a minute to send a message to your members of Congress right now urging them to pass this bill.

Help us make this tax credit happen!
